Cloverdale Lions Club 4th of July Aerial Fireworks Show Cancelled

The Cloverdale Lions Club has officially canceled the City’s annual Fourth of July aerial fireworks display due to the tragic explosion at the Esparto fireworks facility in Yolo County. This facility was the designated supplier of the professional-grade fireworks for Cloverdale’s celebration, as well as for numerous other communities throughout California.

The City of Cloverdale expresses its heartfelt condolences to the families and community members affected by this devastating incident. Our thoughts are with those who have lost loved ones and with all who have been impacted by this tragedy.

We thank the public for their understanding and encourage everyone to celebrate safely this Independence Day.

Cloverdale Lions Club Statement:

To our Amazing Cloverdale Community,

It is with great sadness that we have to announce that our Annual Chuck Sibert Pyro Spectacular planned for July 4th must be cancelled. Yesterday, a tragic event took place in Yolo County at the Esparto Firework Facility that not only destroyed the fireworks housed for many communities like ours, but tragically claimed the lives of several local community members employed by the corporation.

As you can imagine, this is an emotional time for anyone working for and involved with this tragedy, and our hearts go out to them as they navigate what comes next and the loss of good people — their employers, their friends, their family. As one small community to another, we can only imagine the impact this tragedy will have on the people of their town.

It is currently unknown how many of our surrounding communities are affected by this tragedy and will have their shows cancelled. Please check with other cities if you are hoping to see a professional aerial show this holiday.

We are sending our condolences to the community of Esparto and all impacted by this tragic event, and will do our best to find ways to support them.
