The recent flood event on July 13, 2025, impacted several homes on the east side of Sonora, Texas. As families begin the long road to recovery, the City of Sonora has started receiving requests for dehumidifiers to help dry out flooded homes.

During the 2018 flood, donated dehumidifiers made a significant difference for residents, allowing them to dry out their homes and move forward with needed repairs and remodeling. Once again, we are reaching out to the community for help.

If you have a dehumidifier you can donate—or know of one that might be available—we would be happy to come by and pick it up. These will be assigned to families in need across Sonora.

We are also in need of commercial floor drying fans, which can help speed up the drying process and reduce long-term damage to homes.
