Reminder: Cooling Centers open today, Wednesday, July 30, relief from the heat begins tomorrow 
Today is the last day of the high heat and humidity for a while. A Heat Advisory is in effect today as heat index values of up to 104 degrees are expected. As a reminder, cooling Centers will be open today, Wednesday, July 30 at the North Brunswick Senior Center, 15 Linwood Place, North Brunswick Public Library, 880 Hermann Road and Municipal Building, 710 Hermann Road.
The cooling center hours at the Senior Center (15 Linwood Place) and Municipal Building (710 Hermann Road) are: Wednesday 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
The cooling center hours at the North Brunswick Library are:

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check in on your neighbors, especially the elderly or those without air conditioning.
Take extra precautions when outside. Wear lightweight and loose fitting clothing. Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening. Take action when you see symptoms of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.
To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an emergency! Call 9 1 1.
Relief from the heat is on the way. Widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected Thursday afternoon through Thursday night. Storms will be capable of producing locally heavy rainfall, and scattered instances of flash flooding will be possible. Some isolated severe thunderstorms possible Thursday as well.
