Increased Law Enforcement in the area of Trask Pkwy in Burton due to collision.

Update:  As of 1:30 p.m., today, August 20, 2025 the subject that fled from the scene of the traffic collision has been detained.

Increase Law Enforcement can still be expected for an undetermined time in the area of Trask Park Way near the intersection of Parris Island gtwy. There is no threat to the pubic's safety. 

The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office appreciates assistance from South Carolina Department of Natural Resources (DNR), South Carolina Highway Patrol, and other local emergency agencies for their help with this incident.

As of 1:00 p.m., today, August 20, 2025, the public can expect to see an increased law enforcement presence in the area of Trask Park way near the intersection of Parris Island Gate way. Sheriff’s Deputies maybe observed working on County Shed Rd and near the Shadow Moss Trail.

This is due to a traffic collision in which one driver fled the scene. South Carolina Highway Patrol is also assisting with the collision.  

The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office encourages the public to report suspicious or criminal activity by calling our non-emergency dispatch line at 843-524-2777.
