Fairfield Police Department will Conduct Impaired Driving Operation from September 18th to September 30th

The Fairfield Police Department will conduct a high-visibility Impaired Driving Operation from September 18th to September 30th, 2025.
This two-week initiative will dedicate between two and four marked patrol units each day to the sole purpose of identifying and apprehending drivers under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
This proactive enforcement is part of an ongoing effort to improve roadway safety. The department is pleased to report that the community is seeing a significant downward trend in DUI-related incidents.
2024 Statistics: 313 DUI arrests and 128 DUI-related collisions.
2025 Year-to-Date Statistics: 176 DUI arrests and 29 DUI-related collisions.
These figures represent a substantial decrease, and this operation is designed to maintain that positive momentum. We thank the public for their cooperation and remind everyone that preventing impaired driving is a community-wide responsibility.
All motorists are urged to drive with caution. Please plan ahead by designating a sober driver or utilizing ride-sharing services to ensure everyone can "drive to arrive."
