As in every Fall, the Borough will transfer from its own wells back to American Water. As part of this transfer, the Department of Public Works will conduct a comprehensive flushing of the water system next week, starting Monday, 10/06/25. This process will continue for several nights. Flushing will occur between 8 p.m. and 4 a.m. to minimize impact on your home. 

Residents may expect to see a temporary discoloration of the water and/or a decrease of pressure when flushing is occurring. We recommend that you avoid running your tap water or using the washing machine or dishwasher between 8 p.m. and 4 a.m. If you do experience discoloration, please run cold water through your taps until it runs clear.
