Weather Alert from South River OEM
A MESSAGE FROM THE SOUTH RIVER OFFICE OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT
A State of Emergency has been declared for New Jersey due to impending severe weather, including the possibility of strong winds, heavy rain, and coastal flooding from today through Monday.
Although a travel ban is not in effect, driving is discouraged until the threat of severe weather has passed. If you must drive, allow yourself additional travel time and use caution. Do not drive around barricades or through flooded roadways as the water may be deeper than you think. Do not approach down utility lines.
To report an emergency or life threatening situation (not a power outage), dial 9-1-1. Non-emergency calls should be directed to the South River Police Department's non-emergency number at 732-238-1000.
The South River Office of Emergency Management is monitoring the situation and will pass along any information as needed. Residents are encouraged to monitor our NIXLE messages and social media pages for any updates relevant to South River. For more information, visit southriverpd.org/social-media
