City of Sonora Community Announcement
SBA Disaster Loan Assistance Available for Local Residents and Businesses

The City of Sonora would like to inform our community about a valuable taxpayer benefit available exclusively to disaster survivors — low-interest disaster loans from the U.S. Small Business Administration (SBA).
These loans come directly from the U.S. Treasury, with no third-party lenders or banks involved, and are designed to help individuals, businesses, and property owners recover from disaster-related losses.
If you used credit cards or personal funds to repair or replace items damaged by recent disasters, an SBA Disaster Loan can help pay down those balances. Borrowers may also request additional funds for mitigation improvements to protect their property against future damage.
Eligible uses for these loans include:
• Physical damage repairs
• Debris and tree removal
• Cleanup and storage costs
• Relocation expenses
• Other disaster-related needs
Michelle Genovese, SBA Public Affairs Specialist, will be in Sonora to meet with residents and business owners:
• Friday at the Sonora Senior Center during lunch
• Next week with the Chamber of Commerce
• At the City Council Meeting on November 17th at City Hall
If you can spare 15 minutes, Ms. Genovese would love to meet with you to discuss your eligibility and answer any questions.
