On the morning of Sunday, November 16, 2025 at approximately 1125 hrs, Santa Maria Police Officers were called to a disturbance in the parking lot of 1505 S. Broadway. Officers soon learned that Immigration and Customs Enforcement Agents were attempting to arrest an individual who had an arrest warrant. During the course of the arrest, ICE agents were involved in a minor car accident with he suspect in the parking lot of Goodwill. ICE agents eventually forced entry into the vehicle and the individual was arrested.

After the arrest, a crowd of bystanders gathered. In an effort to keep the peace, SMPD Officers remained on scene. At the conclusion of the incident ICE Agents departed with the arrestee in custody.
