The Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office has arrested a man in connection with a stabbing that occurred Sunday night on Hilton Head Island.

At approximately 7:20 p.m. on November 30, 2025, deputies responded to the area of Shelter Cove Lane, for a reported stabbing. Upon arrival, deputies located a 62-year-old man suffering from stab wounds. The male suspect, identified as 39-year-old Sean Elliott, along with several witnesses, remained on scene.

The investigation revealed that an altercation occurred after the vehicle the victim was traveling in turned on to Shelter Cove Lane from a parking lot and the victim felt something hit the side of the car. Once he exited the car, the victim and Elliott had an argument that became physical. At some point during the incident, Elliott retrieved a knife and stabbed the victim.

Hilton Head Island Fire Rescue responded and the victim was transported for medical treatment of his injuries.

Elliott was arrested on the charge of Attempted Murder and Possession of a Weapon During Commission of a Violent Crime. He was transported to the Beaufort County Detention Center.
