Main Street Roadwork Update
A contractor is continuing work on behalf of Middlesex County to remove old trolley tracks under the pavement on Main Street (Middlesex County Route 535).
Work will continue tomorrow, December 4th on Main Street near Obert Street.
Main Street will be closed to traffic in both directions between Reid Street and Stephen Street. Traffic coming into South River from Sayreville will only be able to turn right onto Reid Street. Additionally, Ferry Street will be closed to traffic between Washington Street and Main Street.
Dedicated police officers assigned to traffic posts during hours the work is taking place will be able to assist with access to residences and businesses within the work area.
