REPAIRS CONTINUE FOLLOWING WATER MAIN BREAK IN BEVERLY HILLS

A water main break on Olympic Boulevard between Doheny and Wetherly Drives continues to impact power in a portion of Beverly Hills.

City crews and representatives from Southern California Edison (SCE) continue their repair work following the water main break that occurred during the overnight hours of Sunday. Approximately 250,000 gallons of water traveled from a vault on Olympic Blvd. into an SCE substation.
On Monday night, all water service was restored; however, just over 2,000 customers remain out of power as of Tuesday morning.  SCE crews are currently in the process of isolating the substation from the rest of the circuits and rerouting power to the area.

The City is working to relocate services that may be affected by the power outage. Students from impacted schools are being hosted at Roxbury Park. During this time, the Beverly Hills Police Department has increased patrols and is waiving parking restrictions in the area.

“I share in the frustration with our residents and businesses,” said Beverly Hills Mayor Sharona Nazarian. “SCE is working underground around the clock to resolve the remaining power outages. The City is working diligently to keep the community safe and provide the necessary resources during this ongoing incident. We urge residents to get the latest information by signing up for emergency alerts at beverlyhills.org/emergency. For direct updates from SCE, please visit sce.com/outages.”

Portions of Olympic Boulevard may have temporary lane reductions as repair work continues. The City’s Customer Relations Team is available to assist with any questions and provide information on services available to residents. Please call the City of Beverly Hills ASKBH line at 310-285-1000 or email [email protected].
