This afternoon at approximately 12:56 pm, a man suffering from a gunshot wound was dropped off at NorthBay Hospital. Fairfield Police officers responded and initiated an investigation, determining the shooting occurred in the 400 block of Cottonwood Drive.
Unfortunately, the victim succumbed to his injuries this evening. The case has been assumed by the Fairfield Police Department’s Investigations Unit.
At this time, there is no information to suggest an ongoing or immediate threat to the community. The investigation remains active and, in order to preserve its integrity, no additional details can be released at this time.
