Police Take 38-year-old Man Into Custody After Report of Battery
On Friday, January 16 at approximately 7:18 am, Dispatch received a call concerning a battery at a residence in the 2100 block of Merritt Place in Fairfield.
When officers arrived, they discovered that an assault had been committed against an elderly victim by a family member.
Officers attempted to make contact with the man, a 38-year-old Fairfield resident. The man refused to cooperate with officers and threatened them with a hammer, before barricading himself inside of the residence. No other people were inside.
A CNT officer attempted to make phone contact with the man, but he refused all communication efforts.
Because the suspect refused to cooperate, officers, drones, and a police K9 were utilized to take him into custody.
The man was transported to Solano County Jail.
