Palo Alto, CA – Police are investigating an attempted robbery case on a residential street that occurred on Tuesday, February 3, 2026. A male suspect approached the female victim, forced her to the ground, and demanded her money. The victim suffered minor physical injuries, and the suspect is at large.
On Tuesday, February 3, 2026, at about 8:25 a.m., our 24-hour dispatch center received a call of a robbery that had occurred about 10 minutes prior on the 700 block of East Meadow Drive. Officers from the Palo Alto Police Department responded to the area and were told the suspect had fled the area prior to their arrival.
The investigation revealed that the victim, a woman in her forties, was walking in the 700 block of East Meadow Street when she heard footsteps coming from behind her. The victim was forced to the ground by the suspect. The suspect kicked her several times and demanded money from the victim. The victim told the suspect that she did not have any money and then yelled for help. The suspect fled the scene on foot eastbound on East Meadow Drive. The victim then returned home before calling the police. The victim complained of pain and bruising from being kicked and sought medical treatment on her own.
The victim described the suspect as a Hispanic adult male, approximately 5’8”, thin build, with shoulder-length hair, and wearing a black hoodie. Detectives are actively investigating this case. There have been no similar robberies reported recently in the area.
