SMPD Arrests Juvenile for Armed Robbery 
On February 6, 2026, at approximately 9:45 p.m., Santa Maria Police officers responded to the 900 block of West Morrison regarding a reported robbery involving three suspects. Call information indicated the suspects had taken a wallet and cell phone from two victims and were reportedly armed with a knife and a firearm.
Officers located one juvenile suspect in the area, who fled on foot. A perimeter was established, and the juvenile was subsequently located and detained. Two additional juvenile suspects matching the provided description were contacted nearby and briefly detained.
The victims reported being approached in a parking lot by three individuals who demanded money and property. One suspect was reported to have displayed a firearm. One victim reported having a cell phone, wallet, and cash taken. No serious injuries were reported.
An in-field identification was conducted. One 17-year-old juvenile was positively identified as being involved in the robbery and was taken into custody. The remaining juveniles were released to their guardians. Officers conducted a search of the area for the reported weapon and stolen property; however, neither was located.
The arrested juvenile was medically cleared and transported to Santa Maria Juvenile Hall. The investigation remains ongoing.
