City of Huntington Woods Public Safety Alert 
The City of Huntington Woods is aware of the incident that took place earlier today, March 12, 2026, at Temple Israel. Our thoughts are with all those affected.
Out of an abundance of caution, Huntington Woods Public Safety is on High Alert and is providing additional patrols and attention in the area of Burton Elementary School. Increased patrol activity will take place during morning drop-off, school hours, and afternoon release to help ensure the continued safety of students, staff, and families.
At this time, there is no known threat to Huntington Woods schools, but we are taking proactive measures to support the safety of our community.
Any questions or inquiries regarding the Temple Israel incident should be directed to the Oakland County Sheriff’s Office or the West Bloomfield Police Department, which are handling the investigation.
The City will continue to monitor the situation and will provide updates if necessary.
