Wildfire Reported off Locust Cove Rd in McDowell County
Multiple departments from across McDowell County are on the scene of a wildfire off Locust Cove Road in the Buck Creek community. Firefighters and emergency personnel are actively working to contain the fire.
Air support resources have been requested to assist with suppression efforts along with fire personnel from Buncombe and Yancey County.
At this time, there are no evacuation orders in place. Residents in the area are encouraged to remain alert and be prepared should conditions change.
