HOLLISTER, CALIFORNIA – March 30, 2026 - The Hollister Police Department responded to a report of a shooting in the 1100 blk of Meridian Street.
On Monday, March 30, 2026, at approximately 5:30 a.m., Hollister Police officers were dispatched to the 1100 blk of Meridian Street for a report of a shooting into a residence. Officers located impact marks at a nearby apartment and made contact with the residents.
Witnesses reported that multiple subjects approached the apartment on foot, shot multiple times towards a second-story apartment, and then fled southbound on El Torro Drive. Officers canvased the surrounding neighborhoods but did not locate the responsible parties. Officers processed the scene and found physical evidence of the shooting.
The motive for the shooting is unknown at this time. However, this is being investigated as a possible gang related incident.
