Update: Milk Tanker Truck Incident on I-40
All westbound lanes of I-40 have now been reopened to traffic near the McDowell - Burke line. Crews worked diligently throughout the day to safely clear the scene and mitigate the effects of the overturned tanker.
We appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation during this extended incident as responders worked to ensure the safety of motorists and protect the surrounding environment.
