Household Hazardous Waste Collection Day scheduled for May 9, 2026, 8am-2pm at 500 Dunbarton Rd
The first 2026 Household Hazardous Waste Collection event has been scheduled for Saturday, May 9, 2026 from 8:00 AM - 2:00 PM at the Drop Off Facility, 500 Dunbarton Road. This is an opportunity for Manchester residents to dispose of household hazardous wastes not typically accepted for household trash collection safely, legally, and free of charge.
During this event, Manchester residents may come to the Drop Off to dispose of up to 10 gallons of liquid and 20 pounds of solid household hazardous waste at no cost. Liquids should be in clearly labeled containers no larger than five gallons each. Containers should be carried individually or in boxes, not in garbage bags. Participants must bring proof of Manchester residency.
Hazardous wastes should never be placed in the trash or poured down a drain. Common household hazardous wastes include anti-freeze, button cell and rechargeable batteries (not alkaline), cleaners and disinfectants, mercury thermometers, fluorescent bulbs, pesticides, solvents, and oil-based paints, stains & thinners.
