Threat Against Tech High Investigated, All Students Sent Home Safe After Lockdown 
On April 10, 2026, at approximately 1:30 p.m., the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety (DPS) received a report from Technology High School regarding a phone call from an individual who threatened to come to the campus and carry out a shooting. Based on this information, school officials immediately placed the campus on lockdown as a precautionary measure.
Rohnert Park DPS officers arrived within minutes, made contact with the principal, and established a secure perimeter around the school. Once the school grounds were searched, DPS personnel worked in coordination with the school district to implement a structured and safe reunification process for students and their families. All approximately 400 students were safely reunited with their families by 5:30 p.m.
The Rohnert Park DPS Detective Unit is actively investigating the origin of the threatening call.
Rohnert Park DPS extends its sincere appreciation to the Cotati-Rohnert Park Unified School District, Cotati Police Department, Sonoma State University Police Department, and Sonoma County Fire and Medic Ambulance for their assistance and coordination during this incident, as well as to the faculty, students, and parents for their cooperation and patience throughout the situation.
