Flood Warning until 04:00PM Monday

...The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Illinois...Wisconsin... Sugar River At Brodhead affecting Rock, Winnebago and Green Counties. Rock River Near Lake Koshkonong affecting Jefferson and Rock Counties. Rock River At Fort Atkinson affecting Jefferson County. Rock River At Afton affecting Rock and Winnebago Counties. Rock River At Jefferson affecting Jefferson County. Rock River At Watertown affecting Jefferson County. ROCK RIVER near LEBANON-3 E-HWY MM BRIDGE affecting Dodge County. Crawfish River At Milford affecting Jefferson County.

* WHAT...Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Sugar River at Brodhead.

* WHEN...Until Monday afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 7.0 feet, Some roads are flooded about 6 miles downstream in Avon Township of Rock County, including Beloit Newark Rd. In Illinois, Winslow Rd is threatened near the river between Durand and Shirland. Low lying areas of Sugar Shores Camping Resort may be inundated.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 10:00 PM CDT Saturday the stage was 7.0 feet. - Bankfull stage is 4.5 feet. - Recent Activity...The maximum river stage in the 24 hours ending at 10:00 PM CDT Saturday was 8.3 feet. - Forecast...The river is expected to fall below flood stage late Monday morning and continue falling to 2.1 feet Saturday, April 25. - Flood stage is 5.0 feet. - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of 7.0 feet on 07/13/2008. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood

Instructions:

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Even 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock you off your feet and a depth of 2 feet will float your car. Never try to walk, swim, or drive through such swift water. If you come upon flood waters, stop, turn around and go another way. Turn around, don't drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood deaths occur in vehicles.
