Boil Water Advisory Town of Old Fort
The Town of Old Fort has completed a water main repair and relocation of a water line in the area north of Mill Creek and on the north side of town. This system supplies water to residents in these areas.
As a result, a boil water advisory is now in effect for all customers located:
- North of the railroad tracks, and
- On the north side of town who receive water from the Town of Old Fort.
The Division of Water Resources advises that all water used for human consumption should be boiled or that bottled water be used. This includes water for:
- Drinking
- Making ice
- Brushing teeth
- Washing dishes
- Food preparation
To ensure safety, water should be brought to a vigorous boil for at least one (1) minute, which will kill any disease-causing organisms that may be present.
This advisory will remain in effect until further notice.
