Drivers charged with a first-time DUI face an average of $13,500 in fines and penalties, as well as a suspended license.
Novato Police will be holding a series of DUI enforcement patrols throughout the year to keep our roadways safe.

2 DUI Arrests & 12 Cited at Novato Checkpoint 
On Friday 5/1, Novato Police arrested two drivers on suspicion of DUI during the checkpoint held at South Novato Blvd at Redwood Blvd.
- 656 drivers contacted
- 43 drivers directed to secondary screening area
- 12 Citations:
- 1 driver cited for driving on a suspended license, having a BAC greater than .01, and a probation violation.
- 2 drivers cited for driving on a suspended license for prior DUI, one of which also possessed a weapon.
- 9 drivers cited for unlicensed driving
