On May 9, 2026, at about 2:30 a.m., officers from the Simi Valley Police Department responded to a report of a possible catalytic converter theft in the 1200 block of Graham Street.
A concerned neighbor witnessed suspicious activity involving a vehicle and promptly contacted police, providing a detailed description of the suspect vehicle as it left the area. Officers quickly located the matching vehicle and attempted to stop it. The driver refused to yield, leading to a brief pursuit.
The pursuit proceeded eastbound on the 118 Freeway and continued onto surface streets on the east side of Simi Valley. Due to the suspect’s reckless driving, which created an extreme danger to the public and officers, the pursuit was terminated for safety reasons.
No arrests have been made at this time. The investigation into the catalytic converter theft remains active.
