SVRICT The National Weather Service in Wichita has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Northeastern Woodson County in southeastern Kansas... Allen County in southeastern Kansas...

* Until 145 AM CDT.

* At 1223 AM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Neosho Falls, or 12 miles northwest of Iola, moving east at 25 mph. HAZARD...Golf ball size hail and 70 mph wind gusts. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect considerable tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

* Locations impacted include... Iola, La Harpe, Gas, Moran, Neosho Falls, Elsmore, Mildred, Bassett, Iola Airport, and Piqua.

* AFFECTED AREAS: ALLEN, KS ... WOODSON, KS

Instructions:

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure. For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a building. Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
