Franklin Township's celebration of America's 250th Anniversary continues on Saturday, June 20, 2026, as Franklin 250 and the Franklin Township Parks & Recreation Department present a special outdoor performance by the historic Blawenburg Band.
The free concert will take place from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at The Gazebo, located at the Franklin Township Municipal Complex, 475 DeMott Lane, Somerset.
Founded in 1890, the Blawenburg Band is one of New Jersey's oldest continuously performing community bands. For more than 135 years, the band has entertained audiences throughout Central New Jersey with a diverse repertoire that includes patriotic favorites, American classics, Broadway and movie medleys, marches, and popular concert band selections.
As part of Franklin Township's year-long Franklin 250 celebration, the evening will highlight the role music has played throughout American history while providing an enjoyable summer concert experience for residents of all ages. The program is expected to feature patriotic selections and traditional band favorites, including music that reflects America's rich musical heritage.
Guests are encouraged to bring blankets and lawn chairs and enjoy an evening of music in the beautiful outdoor setting of The Gazebo. Food trucks may also be available on-site.
"Music has always brought people together and helped tell the story of our nation," said Bob LaCorte, Chair of Franklin 250. "We are excited to welcome the Blawenburg Band as part of our Franklin 250 celebration and invite residents to enjoy an evening of great music, community, and patriotic spirit."
