Twenty-five years ago tonight, on June 10, 2001, Maria Hsiao was shot and killed outside of a downtown Palo Alto nightclub. Her case remains unsolved, and we need your help to solve it.
On the anniversary of Maria's death, please watch this video on our website explaining what happened and the impact this crime has had on many people: https://www.paloalto.gov/News-Articles/Police-Department/Can-You-Help-25th-Anniversary-of-Cold-Case-Homicide, and then please share it with your friends. The more widely it is seen, the more chances exist that someone will come forward with a tip that may break the case. Even someone with second- or third-hand information about what happened may hold the missing piece of the puzzle that helps us to crack this case, solve a mystery, and bring justice for Maria, her family and her friends.
Anyone with information about this incident is asked to call our 24-hour dispatch center at (650) 329-2413. Anonymous tips can be sent via text message by texting the keyword PAPD and the tip to 847411, or submitted using the "Palo Alto PD Tips" app, which is available via the App Store or Google Play.
