UPDATE: Commercial Fire Near Commerce (S. Indiana St & Union Pacific Ave) - Heavy Smoke & Public Advised to Minimize Exposure to Outdoors
6/19/26 | 6:20 PM UPDATE - The Boyle Heights commercial fire has reignited and is causing heavy smoke in the surrounding area, including parts of Commerce.
No shelter-in-place order has been issued at this time. Residents are encouraged to stay indoors, keep doors and windows closed, and minimize outdoor exposure, especially individuals with sensitive health conditions.
Additional smoke may be visible as firefighters continue suppression operations for an extended period.
South Coast AQMD has extended its particle pollution advisory through Saturday, June 20 at 12:30 PM. Smoke may continue to impact air quality in the surrounding area.
The City will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available. For emergencies, call 911.
