A Message from Mayor Peter Guindi

A MESSAGE FROM MAYOR PETER GUINDI

As many of you are aware, our area is expected to experience a period of extreme heat and high humidity over the coming days. I encourage everyone to take the necessary precautions to protect yourselves and your loved ones.

Please remember to stay hydrated, limit outdoor activities during the hottest parts of the day, and, if possible, seek air-conditioned spaces when temperatures become extreme. I also ask that you check in on your neighbors, especially seniors and anyone who may be more vulnerable to the heat.

As electricity demand increases during heat waves, we can all help reduce strain on the power grid by conserving energy whenever possible. Consider running washers, dryers, and other major appliances during the morning or evening hours, and avoid cooling empty homes by leaving air conditioners set lower than necessary when no one is home.

Thank you for doing your part to keep our community safe. By looking out for one another, conserving resources, and taking sensible precautions, we can get through this heat wave together.

Stay cool, stay hydrated, and stay safe.

Peter S. Guindi

Mayor, Borough of South River
