Due to the severe storm that moved through Belmar and Lake Como last night, numerous trees and power lines were brought down throughout the borough. There are also scattered power outages affecting multiple areas of town.
Please be aware of the following road closures:
- Main Street Bridge is CLOSED to all vehicle and pedestrian traffic due to a utility pole with transformers that fell onto a vehicle. Please avoid the area and use alternate routes. The detour affects both northbound and southbound traffic north of 8th Avenue.
- B Street, between 18th and 19th Avenues, is closed due to a downed tree and utility wires.
Please use caution when traveling throughout the borough, and avoid any downed trees or power lines. Never approach or attempt to move downed utility wires. Additional updates will be provided as conditions change.
