Road Work Notice: July 20 - July 24 - 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. daily

Road Closures (expect detours):
 

  1. Union St. – Detour will be Willow St. via Silver St.  (Work will be taking place between Willow St. and Clay St. Will re-open at night).
  2. Somerville St – Between Beech St. and Maple St. Detour will be via Silver St.
  3. Shasta St. – Closed at Union St.
 
Partial Lane Closures and Lane Shifts – Traffic to be maintained through work zones
  1. Brown Ave. - Queen City Ave. to W. Baker St., northbound traffic to be detoured, southbound to remain open.
  2. Cilley Rd, South Willow, and Queen City Ave.
  3. Willow St. (Between Cilley Rd. and Union St) – Northbound traffic will be shifted to southbound lanes
  4. Massabesic St – Temporary shoulder impacts
  5. Cohas Ave. (Island Pond Rd. to Greenwood Court and Old Cohas Ave.) – intermittent traffic interruption including lane-shift traffic patterns.
 
 
 Temporary Lane Impacts – Traffic to be maintained through work zones
  1. Wilson Street - Hayward St. to Valley St., sidewalk to be impacted.
  2. Intersection of Queen City Ave and Brown Ave – Temporary 5-10 minute all traffic stop due to blasting operations. Traffic to follow police detail directive. 
 
What to Expect and Important Notes
 
  1. Expect road closures and detours during construction hours.
  2. Please follow posted detour signs and allow extra travel time.
  3. Parking will be prohibited within the construction area.
  4. Drivers and pedestrians should use extreme caution when traveling past work zones, especially at night or in adverse weather when visibility is limited.
  5. Driveway access to local businesses and homes within closures will be maintained and closely coordinated by the Contractor. If driveway access is temporarily blocked, coordinate with crews or police for property access.
  6. For lane shifts during construction, follow new lane markings, barricaded routes, or traffic cones and allow extra travel time.
  7. Whenever possible, we encourage drivers to plan ahead and avoid the construction area.
