Micro Surfacing at Various Locations Starting 7/24/26 through 7/28/2026

Indus Inc., the contractor for the City of Manchester’s Department of Public Works (DPW), will be performing micro-surfacing at various locations throughout the city beginning July 24, 2026, through July 28, 2025.

What is Micro-Surfacing?
Micro-surfacing is a roadway maintenance treatment that applies a thin layer of asphalt emulsion mixed with aggregate to extend the life of the pavement. This process creates a new asphalt layer approximately 3/8 inch thick, improving durability, skid resistance, and overall ride quality.

Cure times will vary depending on weather, generally ranging from 30 to 90 minutes, and streets will remain closed until the surface has cured.

Weather permitting, the work is expected to take three days to complete, following the schedule below:

  • Day 1 (Friday 7/24 ): Mast Road (Varney Street - Town Line), Coolidge Avenue (Goffstown Rd - Iris Street)

  • Day 2 ( Monday 7/27 ): Coolidge Avenue (Iris Street - Bremer Street), Mast Road (Varney Street - Sweeney Avenue), Hevey Street (Bremer St - Coolidge Avenue)

  • Day 3 ( Tuesday 7/28 )  : Mast Road (Sweeney Avenue - Town Line), Hevey Street (Bremer St - Coolidge Avenue)

During construction, one lane of the street will be closed while being treated. One-way traffic will be maintained throughout the work.

Residents are reminded that while temporary closures will be in place, emergency vehicles will always have access to all streets at all times.

We kindly ask residents to plan their activities accordingly and avoid construction areas whenever possible. While every effort will be made to minimize disruptions, some delays and temporary restrictions on access should be expected.

We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to improve our community’s infrastructure.

Sincerely,
City of Manchester – DPW Highway Division
