ROHNERT PARK, CA - The Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety is pleased to announce that it was awarded a grant from the Alcohol Beverage Control (ABC) through the Alcohol Policing Partnership Program.
The Alcohol Policing Partnership Program is intended to work with law enforcement agencies to develop an effective, comprehensive, and strategic approach to reduce the crime and public nuisance problems associated with problem alcoholic beverage outlets.
This program targets both ABC licensed premises and individuals who furnish alcoholic beverages to underage minors and department decoys. The project is targeted to reduce underage drinking and the associated DUI driving injuries and fatalities, and/or property damages, and reduce youth access to alcoholic beverages through the education of licensee(s), enforcement intervention, and the increased presence of local law enforcement.
As part of the program, the Rohnert Park Department of Public Safety will be working collaboratively with the Cotati Police Department and Sonoma State University Police Department to address alcohol related concerns, issues, and enforcement in their jurisdictions.
This project is part of the Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control’s Alcohol Policing Partnership and will run through June of 2027.
