Road Work Notice: August 31 - September 4 - 7:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. daily

Full Road Closures - Driveway access may be temporarily blocked during work hours, coordinate with crews or police for property access.

  • Somerville St – (Beech St. and Maple St.) - Detour will be via Silver St.
 
Partial Lane Closures or Lane Shifts – Traffic to be maintained through work zones unless noted below
  • Brown Ave – (Queen City Ave. to W. Baker St.) - northbound traffic to be detoured, southbound to remain open.
  • Cilley Rd – (S. Beech St. to S. Willow St.) - westbound traffic to be detoured, eastbound traffic to remain open.
  • Massabesic St – (Jewett St. to Valley St.) - Temporary shoulder impacts due to work being performed, lanes shifted.
  • Boutwell St.  –  (Kelley St. to Bremer St.) – Temporary lane closures due to paving.
 
Temporary Lane Impacts - Traffic to be maintained through work zones
  • Wilson Street – (Hayward St. to Valley St.)- sidewalk to be impacted.
  • Massabesic St – (Jewett St. to Valley St.) – sidewalk to be impacted.
  • Riverdale Ave. – (W. Mitchell St. to dead end) –  Partial lane and shoulder impacts
 
Recreational Trail Impacts:
  • Riverwalk Trail – Extended closure from Dunbar St. to Riverwalk Way
  • Rockingham Recreational Trail – (between Mammoth Rd and Revere Ave) – anticipate temporary impacts to the trail for utility work
 
 What to Expect and Important Notes
 
  1. Expect road closures and detours during construction hours.
  2. Please follow posted detour signs and allow extra travel time.
  3. Parking will be prohibited within the construction area.
  4. For dead-end road closures, please note hand delivered notices with special instructions for driveway access and parking limitations during paving timelines.
  5. Drivers and pedestrians should use extreme caution when traveling past work zones, especially at night or in adverse weather when visibility is limited.
  6. Driveway access to local businesses and homes within closures will be maintained and closely coordinated by the Contractor. If driveway access is temporarily blocked, coordinate with crews or police for property access.
  7. For lane shifts during construction, follow new lane markings, barricaded routes, or traffic cones and allow extra travel time.
  8. Whenever possible, we encourage drivers to plan ahead and avoid the construction area.
