The Manchester Department of Public Works (DPW) will be performing construction and maintenance work at various locations throughout the city from September 21 to September 25. Please see the locations listed below.
Road Closures (expect detours)
- Hall St (Somerville St to Clay St) – Overlay paving
Lane Closures or Lane Shifts (traffic to be maintained through work zones)
- Porter St (Mammoth Rd to Cilley Rd) – Final cleanup
- Beech St (North St to Bridge St) – Curbing and/or sidewalk work, paving preparation
- Pine St (Valley St to Central St) – Curbing, drainage and sidewalk work
- Various Streets (City-wide) – Crack-sealing
- Harrison St (Maple St to Oak St) – Final cleanup
- Brook St (Maple St to Oak St) – Final cleanup
- Ohio Ave (Bridge St to Cul-de-sac) – Paving preparation
- Delaware Ave (Bridge St to approx. 300’ south of Bridge St) – Paving preparation
- S. Willow St (at Weston Rd) – Final cleanup and signal work
- Cilley Rd (at Jewett St) – Signal work
- Maple Street (Lake Ave to Bridge St) – Signal work and pilot study
General Guidelines
- Construction schedules can change unexpectedly.
- Expect lane/road closures and detours during construction hours.
- Please follow posted detour signs and allow extra travel time.
- Parking will be prohibited when required.
- Drivers and pedestrians should use extreme caution when traveling past work zones, especially at night or in adverse weather when visibility is limited.
- Driveway access to local businesses and homes within closures will be maintained and closely coordinated by the Contractor. If driveway access is temporarily blocked, coordinate with crews or police for property access.
- For lane shifts during construction, follow new lane markings, barricaded routes, or traffic cones and allow extra travel time.
- Whenever possible, we encourage drivers to plan ahead and avoid the construction area.
