As has been the case for the past several years, Florence Avenue will be closed to vehicle traffic on Halloween night, Friday, October 31, from 4 PM until 9:30 PM.
We all know Florence Avenue is a popular street for trick-or-treaters, and why wouldn't it be with all the great decorations and metal sculptures from our very own local artist! With the crowds Florence Avenue draws, coupled with its narrow stature, keeping the road closed during peak candy collecting hours is in the best interest for the safety of all involved.
Our officers will be out there as much as possible, handing out stickers, enjoying all the creative costumes, and counting how many times people ask if that's a real police uniform or a costume!
We'll be sharing some Halloween safety tips later in the week so stay tuned! Happy Halloween and be safe!
