Please be aware that due to conditions beyond the contractors control, there will be changes to the Asphalt Installation schedule tomorrow. At completion of the installation of the final phase of the 143 to the 202 section, the Green Hills entrance and the 143 to 202 section of North Shore will be completely closed until Thursday Morning May 24th. However, the new road from the spillway to 142 N Shore will be reopened at 8am Wednesday Morning so access to those homes can be accomplished from the 72nd road entrance.

The reason for this last minute change is that the Asphalt is being installed at approximately 300 degrees F. After installing and then rolling out the road, the temperature of the asphalt is not cooling down fast enough for use of the roads. The temperature of the asphalt must get to at least 100 degrees F and that will not be achieved until after a night of cooler weather. The outside temperatures are close to 90 degrees F this week and it is slowing down the cooling process. If the roads would be opened too soon, there would be potential road damage, tar adhesions to your tires, as well as tar marks being transferred to many of your nice concrete driveways.

We regret this last minute change of plans, as we know that this greatly affects not only the 100 block residents, but the convenience to all residents to access the Green Hills entrance.

As previously posted by our City Clerk, the Russell Jones Education Center has graciously allowed our 100 block residents to use their parking lot Wednesday Night.
