Citywide Curfew 9pm to 5am
Statement by Mayor Ivan Altamirano
Dear Commerce Community,
In accordance with the County of Los Angeles, the City of Commerce will impose a curfew for a fourth night that runs from 9 p.m. tonight, June 3, 2020, through 5 a.m. on Thursday, June 4, 2020. The curfew is on a case-by-case basis; people who need to travel to and from work, first responders, and people with medical emergencies are exempt. I encourage everyone to stay home, be safe, and remain vigilant.
The curfew is a preventative measure to ensure that every member of the City of Commerce community is safe. Thank you to all residents for the continued resilience and vigilance. If you see any looting and other questionable activity, please report it.
During last night's City Council meeting, I shared my appreciation to our staff, first responders, City Council, Congresswoman Lucille Roybal-Allard, Supervisor Hilda Solis and State Senator Bob Archuleta for their endless commitment to our community during this unpredictable time. Our community is grateful for the great work you have done and the consistent communication and resources you provide that moves Commerce forward.
Thank you,
Mayor Altamirano
