- Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd (A-MISDEMEANOR)
ARRAIGNMENT/BAIL STATUS: Vega and Fernandez were arraigned in Amsterdam City Court in front of the Honorable Judge Lisa W. Lorman and were both released on their own recognizance to reappear in Amsterdam City Court at a later date.
INCIDENT NARRATIVE: On June 21st, 2022 at approximately 5:23 P.M. members of the Amsterdam Police Detective and Patrol Divisions as well as members of the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at 51 Hibbard Street Apt. 1 located in the City of Amsterdam. The search warrant was signed by the Honorable Judge Lisa W. Lorman. The warrant was issued following an extended investigation into the sale of narcotics from the first floor residence. At 51 Hibbard Street Apt. 1 Amsterdam Police detectives located Vega who was also wanted on an arrest warrant for the criminal sale of a controlled substance and he was taken into custody without incident. A search of the apartment was then conducted resulting in the seizure of various narcotics, packaging materials, and other items used in the preparing and selling of narcotics.
Fernandez was also subject to an arrest warrant for the criminal sale of a controlled substance later responded to police headquarters where she was then taken into custody without incident.
Both Vega and Fernandez were processed and held for arraignment in Amsterdam City Court.
Christian Vega was charged with Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd (B-Felony), Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 7th (A-Misdemeanor) and four counts of Criminally Using Drug Paraphernalia 2nd (A-Misdemeanor).
Denisse Fernandez was charged with Criminal Sale of a Controlled Substance 3rd (B-Felony).

While there was probable cause for this arrest, all persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
