AFFECTED SEVERE STORM RESIDENTS MESSAGE FROM PERRY COUNTY SUPERVISOR OF ASSESMENTS 
From the Office of the Chief County Assessment Officer:
If your dwelling or any other taxable structures were rendered uninhabitable, damaged or destroyed during the storm that impacted Perry Count y on March 14th - 15th , 2025, you are entitled to a pro-ration/reduction of the assessed value on those affected structures for the 2025 assessment year. This proration/reduction will affect the taxes paid in 2026.
Forms are being mailed out to the affected property y owners that we have record of. To see if you are on that list, please call the Assessment Office at (618) 357-2209. The "PTAX-761 Request for Reduction Due to Destruction" form is also available from our office, currently located at 203 N. Walnut, Pinckneyville, IL.
Pursuant to 35 ILCS 200/9-180, affected property owners have until Friday, June 13th, 2025 (90 Days) to return the forms to the Perry County Assessment Office. Forms received after this date will result in the property being re-evaluated for the 2025 assessment year, taxes payable in 2026.
