Please be advised that the City of East Chicago, Indiana, is scheduled to perform street sweeping in your neighborhood (Fir Street, from Columbus Drive/140th through the 136th blocks) beginning Monday, March 2, 2026, and continuing until further notice.
This work is part of our routine maintenance program to keep our streets clean, safe, and free of debris. To ensure a thorough and efficient cleaning process, we respectfully request your full cooperation by following the guidelines below:

Move All Vehicles
Please observe NO PARKING signage and remove all parked vehicles from the designated side of street between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Vehicles not moved during these hours are subject to towing.
Scheduled Locations, Times, and Dates

- Mondays (beginning March 2, 2026), 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Sweeping will occur on the EVEN-numbered side of each block. - Wednesdays (beginning March 4, 2026), 7:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
Sweeping will occur on the ODD-numbered side of each block.
These schedules will remain in effect until further notice.
Remove Personal Property
Please remove personal property such as basketball hoops, trash cans, storage bins, or any other items from the curb and street to prevent damage and allow sweepers to operate safely and efficiently.
Observe Posted Signs
Pay close attention to any temporary “No Parking” or other posted signage indicating specific restrictions or changes.

Temporary Restoration of Roadways and Disturbed Areas
Temporary restoration of roadways is currently being performed due to weather and material limitations. Permanent restoration work (including paving, sidewalks, curbs, lawns, or other disturbed areas) is scheduled to begin after April 15, 2026.
