Update on road paving project
Unfortunately, the work on the road overlay project has again had mechanical issues. The milling machine broke down today and another was replaced in the afternoon. The new schedule is as follows:
1) Wednesday 5/15. Contractor will continue milling from 853 to as far as they can go toward Chatham. The paving machine will begin the paving of Hickory and then continue paving from 911 to at least 853 and further if possible. Chatham is scheduled to be open all day.
2) Thursday 5/16. Chatham will be closed for milling all day. 800 block and Hickory are scheduled to be open all day to allow the trash service to take care of all trash pick up around the lake.
3) Friday 5/17. Chatham will be closed for paving. Any milling and paving left to be done on the 800 block to 765 will be scheduled to be completed. Hopefully, all the road work will be done by Friday night.
This schedule is contingent on fully operating equipment and good weather. Please know that I am doing my best to address the challenges we face them daily . I will continue keeping all of you informed. Remember that in the end we will have more sections of our city roads upgraded as promised.
I would appreciate your patience through these changes and realize we are moving forward with positive improvements for our City.
